Rollermax

Guarantee

The Rollermax is built to last, and is
unconditionally guaranteed against defects
in materials and/or workmanship for five (5) years.

What the Rollermax is made of:

 Comet's patented double-ended wrench system

The superstructure is made of welded structural steel members, bolted together with 1/2-13 hardened Allen head steel bolts to insure a lifetime of durability. The industrial powder coating (available in any color you want as long as it's "pan green") is practically impervious to chemical and physical damage. The parts of the superstructure are machined to exacting tolerances and provide four rigid coplanar points for controlling the flatness of the frame throughout the tensioning process. The articulating plate soldier system (which is made from T-6 6061 tool-grade aluminum, as are the wrenches) features a clamping system with a combined strength of 2000lbs residing atop the control plane. The wrenches used by the Rollermax System to apply symmetrical torque to the frame are precisely milled and tig-welded, and are guaranteed to not break, ever.

Why we chose steel for the superstructure:
Richard Greaves, in his article
The Feel of the Manual Press,
[PrintWear Magazine, Nov. 1997] writes:
The press is no more stable than its base assembly.
It should be welded steel tubing that won't move
and is very rigid. Test this by pushing down on the
base to see if it will flex.
We at Comet believe the same holds true
for a precision rapid-tensioning system;
that's why we build each Rollermax out of steel.
The Rollermax base will not flex.
